Solving Wagner Pro 350m Airless Paint Sprayer issues with an Ultrasonic Cleaner

When spray painting Emulsion in our new warehouse, we noticed uneven coats and stripes in the spray pattern, caused by a blockage in the nozzle of the spray gun.

Our Wagner Pro 350m Airless Paint Sprayer was also spitting excess paint when the trigger was released and despite following the manufacturers advice to rotate the spray head to purge and clear the nozzle, we could not solve the issue.

Ultrasonic cleaning is ideal for cleaning small parts with hard-to-reach areas so we decided to see if this method would solve our problem.

Within seconds of switching on our 3L Cavitek Ultrasonic Cleaner, the paint started to lift away from the contaminated surface creating a cloudy area in the solution. Our general purpose cleaning solution aided the ultrasonic scrubbing action with a 5% dilution and reached the fine holes and crevices of the nozzle, spray heads and filter, that would be hard to access using conventional cleaning methods.

We returned to painting after just a few minutes of cleaning on site, with no further spray pattern deterioration.
