A foil test is a great way to verify reliable ultrasonic operation across all areas of an ultrasonic cleaner.

Larger baths can be sectioned by forming a grid with tape across the top and testing in each of the sections with aluminium foil.

Results can be photographed or recorded, and compared with historic results to ensure performance is maintained and has not reduced.⠀

A reduction in foil erosion could be an indication that transducers have failed or are degrading in power or there could be an issue with the driver circuitry when powered by multiple drivers.⠀

Standard aluminium foil can be used as an indicator, within 15 to 20 Seconds of submersion erosion is usually visible, eating away around the edges and causing small perforations.

Avoid placing fingers into the solution as ultrasonic action is likely to cause damage to human tissue.

This is a good visual indication of the cleaning ability the ultrasonic cleaners have to access all areas the fluid reaches and perform a scrubbing action on the surface of the item being cleaned aided by the addition of cleaning solutions.

This video was taken using a 206L 28Khz ultrasonic cleaner filled with water and no detergent set to 60 Degrees C.
