Why is Ultrasonic Cleaning a better alternative to traditional Carburettor cleaning methods?

Why is Ultrasonic Cleaning a better alternative to traditional Carburettor cleaning methods?

Ultrasonic Cleaners remove a wide range of contaminants, including Petrol varnish, oil, carbon and dirt, from otherwise inaccessible areas of the carburettor.

This method is gentle but extremely effective, removing tough stains in a fraction of the time of ordinary brush or scrubbing methods. Ultrasonic cleaning is a time-saving and safe option for carburettors.

To maximise your results, we offer a specialist formulation for adding to Ultrasonic baths when cleaning carburettors.

Traditional Beer Tap Restored Using Ultrasonic Cleaning

Oxidation Removal Ultrasonic Cleaning solution used on this traditional beer tap.

These results were achieved by submerging one half of the tap into a 6L tank for just 20 minutes, using our oxidation removal cleaning solution.

The tap is made of cast brass then plated with copper before being over plated with nickel. Many years of dirt, grime and beer have been removed along with some of the unstable plating and oxidisation.

Ultrasonic cleaners can be a great tool when restoring old parts back to their former glory whether it be car parts, bike, motorcycle parts, vintage collectables or antiques.

Care should be taken when cleaning plated parts, that over cleaning doesn’t remove unstable or delicate plating.

Cleaning a Marine Engine Piston in an Ultrasonic Cleaner – Before & After

We set up and ran a cleaning cycle on a very dirty Marine Engine Piston, which was sent in by a customer. They wanted to see how effective the cleaning results would be by using our Carburettor cleaning fluid, in one of our XL Ultrasonic Cleaners.

We conducted a test and monitored the cleaning results every 10 minutes. The final result after 50 minutes cleaning was very promising and the before and after images speak for themselves. The picture shows that the built-up carbon, grease and dirty contaminants have been removed on the most part, allowing our customer to complete the inspection and rebuild saving valuable time.

With this information, our customer was happy to proceed in purchasing a 288L tank and Carburettor cleaning fluid, knowing it would speed up and enhance their engine rebuilding service.

Adhesive applied by Spray Gun - Cleaning Test Results

The purpose of this cleaning test was to demonstrate the cleaning method and capabilities of the ultrasonic cleaning function, accompanied by our Flux Cleaner Solution.

The Spray gun presented is contaminated with adhesive, which has settled and formed into a rubbery like substance that is stuck to the spray head, along with its components. As soon as cleaning started, the cavitation process could be seen in action, as some grime is seen lifting. At this stage, there were no visible signs of the adhesive lifting.

After 5 minutes, the Adhesive had started to soften, although shows no signs of lifting. However after 10 minutes, 95% of the adhesive is still very much resident, but we found that the adhesive had softened to the extent that it can be brushed away. To test this theory, a paintbrush was used and successfully brushed
